Local packaging prototype firm Litmus signs a sponsorship deal with former Commonwealth boxing champion, Tommy Coyle to be one of the sponsors for what will be one of Coyle’s final fights.

From the early days of 2009 boxing at the Doncaster Dome to his first title fight at Hull City Hall for the Central Area strap three years later, Coyle has spent a decade improving and winning hearts and minds with his courage, determination and attractive style.

Rick McGurk, co-owner of Litmus mock-ups was one of the supporters for Tommy Coyle’s  Doncaster Dome debut 10 years ago.

Established four years ago, Litmus are one of the leading companies for producing high-quality packaging prototypes.

Since its establishment 4 year ago, they have grown to a £1.4m-turnover business that employs 20 people at its Hull base and a sales office in London. Its clients include blue-chip brands, design agencies and large reproduction houses.

Stepping out on the undercard to Anthony Joshua’s world heavyweight title showdown with Andy Ruiz Jr on June 1 in New York City, Coyle is expected to be squaring off against Chris Algeri, a former world kickboxing and WBO champion turned world title challenger.

“Without the support of local corporate sponsors like Litmus, I wouldn’t be able to focus on boxing in the way I have been given the opportunity to. Rick and the firm have been a loyal supporter which is the reason I have been able to train and focus to get me to this stage. For now, I can’t think about anything beyond the fight but I hope this is an unbelievable stage of the journey. It’s a dream come true.”

Rick McGurk added: “Tommy combines raw talent with grit and hard work to reach his goals. It’s our privilege to be able to follow his journey and wish him the very best for the night. We had the pleasure of supporting Tommy in his first fight and It is been a pleasure to watch Tommy excel at every level and support Tommy in what will be one of this last flights. My friendship with Tommy goes back years, with my son working on the Coyle & Sons fruit market years ago. All the Litmus team are avid fans of boxing and can’t wait to watch the fight”.
